Welcome to LogicLab: where logic meets creativity

LogicLab teaches logic through games, in Scratch. I wrote the pathway, the orientation and the whole of Week 1: two 60-minute lessons, moving a sprite with the arrow keys and building a catch-the-falling-objects game, across a 75-slide step-by-step guide with teacher notes on every slide.

Read, then do

Every step asks the learner to look, do, check and ask: read the slide first, follow along on their own computer, look for the check mark after each major step, and raise a hand when stuck.

The first day

The orientation opens with a question every child can answer badly and wants to answer well: how do games, apps and websites actually work? Then why games are the way in, and the class agreements, where bugs are friends and no question is silly.
